The Embroidery Social is a welcoming, beginner-friendly workshop led by local textile artist Mathilde Darnton, designed to help you refresh and or personalise a garment or accessory through hand-sewn embellishment. Whether you’re mending, customising or simply experimenting, this social offers a relaxed space to learn new techniques and get creative with fabric.
Across these sessions, Mathilde will guide you through simple embroidery stitches and decorative methods that can be adapted to any skill level. You’re encouraged to bring along the piece of clothing you’d like to work on, as well as a photo or sketch of the design you’re hoping to create.
This social is suitable for complete beginners and those with some stitching experience. It’s all about enjoying the process, learning at your own pace and giving new life to textiles you already love.
All materials will be provided, including:
